So far I haven't made anything really spectacular, though I'm not sure if I ought to blame that on the cookbook or on my tendency to tinker with recipes on the fly.
A word to the wise, though: Just because one chipotle pepper is good does not mean that two chipotles peppers are better. Yowza! (And I've still got most of a can of chipotles in adobo to use up. I've been thinking of whizzing them in the food processor with some cream cheese, and making a seriously thermonuclear bagel spread.) Had a good weekend. Saturday was very domestic: I made a mammoth grocery run and puttered around the house. On Sunday, I wanted an excuse to get out of the apartment and drive my little car around in the sunshine, so Daniel and I went up to Berkeley. We visited Comic Relief and The Other Change of Hobbit, wandered around, had dinner at Venus, one of our favorite splurgy restaurants. One thing I've noticed the last few times I've driven up to Berkeley: 880 is damn bumpy! Going North through Oakland, it's just a bit cracked and potholey, but there's a bit on the Southbound stretch that's just weird - the road just has these odd bumps or ridges every couple of car lengths. It's kind of not fun at 70 miles per hour - there were a couple of places where I swear I thought my rear wheels were leaving the ground as I went over a bump. It's not anything new - the freeway's been like that for as long as I can remember - but I definitely notice it more in the smaller car with stiffer suspension. Okay, my mission for tonight is to hit Orbitz and find cheap plane tickets for WisCon. Guess I'd better get to it. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
