I spent a goodly portion of this afternoon raiding iTunes and putting together mix CDs to play in my car. I put together a CD of nice mellow songs, and another one which I ended up naming the "Dirty Mix" for its higher than usual proportion of slightly raunchy or off color songs. I played a bit of it for Daniel when we went out to get some dinner. He was apparently unimpressed with my segue of the Magnetic Fields' "How Fucking Romantic" into Soft Cell's "Sex Dwarf", but got a kick out my using Monty Python's "I Bet You They Won't Play This Song on the Radio" as a lead in to Soundgarden's "Big Dumb Sex".

(Now, Stephanie would for sure get the biggest kick out of the Magnetic Fields/Soft Cell pairing. Maybe I should send her a mix.)

Oh, I'm tired. Things have been a bit crazy at work - we're understaffed, still, and our brief period of slack when we had relatively few projects is coming to an end. My talent for strategic thinking is something of a liability in these situations - I not only worry about whether I'm going to be able to do my projects, I worry about whether other people are going to be able to do their projects. Silly me. We have a new tech writer starting in three weeks - that should help a bit. (And we're still looking to hire one more.)

So, I've spent today doing utterly unproductive things like making mix CDs and playing on the PlayStation. Wheeee. At some point I really need to do some laundry. Tomorrow. There's always tomorrow, right?
