2005-02-05 10:10 AM Hecticness Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Happy Read/Post Comments (2) Boy, this has been a hectic week at work. We moved to new cubicles on Tuesday. The cubicles themselves are exactly like the old cubicles, but we're now upstairs instead of downstairs, and upstairs is less crowded than downstairs, so it is quieter.
There's something very odd about the floor upstairs. It's bouncy. If somebody stomps around or drops something heavy, you can feel the floor vibrate like a drum head. I have an odd irrational fear that one day a bunch of people will stomp at exactly the wrong resonant frequency, and it will all come down like the Tacoma Narrows bridge. My phone didn't work for half a day, and I lost my paperclips and my pencil sharpener. Other than that, everything about the move went smoothly. (The phone part was no great loss.) After that, my memories of the week are a blur of meetings and storyboarding of tutorial movies. (I like storyboarding - it makes me feel like some bigshot director. Wooo. I guess that meetings ought to make me feel like a bigshot director, too, but mostly they make me feel tired.) I can tell that I'm still wired into productive mode, because I got up this morning, had breakfast, and then paid all my bills, made a couple of phone calls I'd been putting off for ages, and am now having great fun giving my paper shredder a workout. Hopefully, by the time Daniel wakes up, I'll have unwound enough to actually do something lazy and unproductive. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
