It's interesting to note at least three of us unsuccessfully tried to dial 911, forgetting that you need to dial 9 to get an outside line first. Finally, someone ran downstairs to the receptionist's desk, and she called 911. The paramedics arrived quite quickly. Once it became clear that I couldn't do anything useful, I went back to my cube and pretended to work. (One of the paramedics had to keep saying, "Excuse me, could everyone keep clear and stay out of the way?") My co-worker was conscious and answering questions reasonably lucidly when they took him to the hospital. (He was able to tell the paramedics which hospital he wanted to go to.) So, I hope he'll be okay. My boss is going to try to check up on him later. Understandably, we're all feeling a little shaken. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
