Yesterday morning, I went shopping for new shoes, since my all-purpose pair of black boots were getting very worn down at the heels. I got a really nice pair of brown Oxford-ish things from Doc Marten, and a pair of black-on-black Converse low-top sneakers. Both on sale. Score.
So, my pants don't fit, but my feet are stylin'. Oh well. One thing at a time here. Daniel and I went to our favorite Greek restaurant for lunch, and wandered around Santana Row for a while. As usual, Santana Row is a great place to vehicle watch: yesterday's attraction was a small fleet of shiny, attractively-tricked out Harley-Davidson motorcyles. I gave Daniel his first lesson in driving a car with a manual transmission. This is only something I've been meaning to teach him for years. With the state of his car being what it is, it suddenly seemed like a good idea to bump it up the priority queue. (The current state of Daniel's car: it runs fine, as long as you don't want to exceed 40 miles per hour. We're going to replace it with a freeway-capable car, just as soon as Daniel decides what he wants, and we work out the logistics of buying it.) Daniel got the basics down pretty quickly, and I offered to let him drive the car home from the empty parking lot we were using for practice, but he didn't feel quite comfortable enough yet. It brought back fond memories of my dad teaching me to drive stick shift. Though I had it easier than my dad did - Daniel knows how to drive, it's just the clutch that is mysterious. I watched Kill Bill: Volume 1, which was interesting - I'll put a sort of review in another post. This morning, I went to the Japantown farmers' market, and got lots of stuff, which you can read about over at Spaceling Cafe, if you're interested. Now I'm just puttering around the house, catching up on blogs, and waiting for Daniel to wake up. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
