When we finally decided to consider getting another dog, I had strict requirements for what that dog would be. Of course the kids immediatley begged for a puppy. That was met with an emphatic "NO!" from me. Everyone knows that no matter what we ended up with I would be the one to take care of it.

What kind of insane person takes their 6 year old dog freak daughter to a shelter to "just look"?
