The most successful businesses are run by people who are seen as authorities or experts in some area or industry. It's about wanting to be an expert, having the intention to become the best, that will allow you to do just that. Choosing to become an expert in anything, any niche, can be done if you choose to do so. Bluffing a little in the beginning is probably going to be necessary. Don't lie or misrepresent. Just present yourself in the best way you know how. You have to project authority and confidence with whatever niche you are in. When you talk to people, you should come across in a passionate confident manner every time. Becoming an expert in your field of choice is something you need to do, and you can do this by representing yourself passionately in this field of interest. One of the most important characteristics of an entrepreneur is the ability to spot opportunities before anyone else. This doesn't take any special kind of genius, even though a lot of people think it does. It's true, for some people this trait is more natural than for others; nonetheless, anyone can train themselves to be on the lookout for opportunities. You just have to keep your eyes open and look for them. One way of finding an opportunity is to find the solutions to problems people in your marketplace are looking for. Search for, and identify, any new product or service that is lacking in your field. Naturally, every idea you come up with may not work out, but keep track of any you have nonetheless. It will become a habit to know when you are seeing an opportunity that might work out. Many of them may be profitable.

Entrepreneurs not only need to be goal oriented, they also have to be able to see the big picture. You have to know why you are doing certain things and focus on short-term goals and get them done efficiently. If you are thinking from the standpoint of an employee, you would want to finish what your boss just gave you to do moments earlier. Once you get it done, it's no longer your problem. Entrepreneurs don't think about getting jobs done, but think about how successful the projects actually ended up becoming. It's all about factoring in what short-term goals must be achieved to reach long-term goals later on. At times you may discover that you made a mistake and you'll have to change course. It's about attaining your goals, and being flexible enough to course correct to get there in the fastest way possible.

You can develop the mindset of an entrepreneur if this is your goal. If you are used to working for someone else, you're going to have to change the way you think.
