Last night here in Flagstaff we had our first poetry showcase at Charly's located in the famous Hotel Weatherford in our little downtown area. Poets included Host Josh Fleming, Christopher Fox Graham, Suzy Lafollette, Nick Fox, John Kofonow, Brent Heffron, Ira Murfin, and Dan Seaman as well as myself. It was a lot of fun, and we are hoping to do slams there, as it would be appropo, the oldest art form in the world, with the oldest tavern in Flagstaff. The Poetry was awesome tonight. We had tons of compliments from the audience, and Everybody had a cool time. Poor Brent Heffron got picked on twice in the same night, as Nick targeted him with Big Poppa E's Worm Boy, and then Christopher Fox Graham admitted that Brent needs it bad. Eirek Dye was in the audience, but he is taking a break from Slam... but I am sure the competitive juices will start flowing soon. We are now getting prepared to take Las Vegas on Saturday night. Imagine between 7 and 10 Arizona poets storming into the Cafe Espresso Roma, and then walking up the Las Vegas Strip like a bunch of tourists from Mars. We will have fun fer shure!
