Well, last night was the first semis, and I made the cut. I came in fourth in an intense competition. Had an okay first round, but won the judges in the second round. The finals are May 1st. Josh Fleming who emceed last night also has a chapbook out, and it is muy fabuloso! Josh will make you laugh, make you cry, make you think. Be sure to catch the Save The Males Tour this Spring/Summer. We are watching Dr. Strangelove in my 105 class. Peter Sellers was a f*cking Genius! Bookfest is upon us here in Flagstaff. Tax Day is upon us also! Hurray! not for taxes, but for the slam thing. The finals are going to be tougher than hell! Just like last year but even tougher... because everybody is so much more experienced at this. I am going to enjoy not slamming on the 24th. Just watching the competition will be enough! Buddy Wakefield is returning also, and then on May 1st, Nick Fox will be featuring for the last time in Flagstaff, until he comes back and starts up the scene again in 2 years. Nick should go for the Indies. He is probably hands down, one of the best ever. He'll memorize your poem before you even write it. He's that good! |
