I got the rejection from FIU today, so now it is down to Washington and Long Beach. I regret not putting more slam poems in my portfolio. Barbara Anderson wants me to put more slam stuff in my thesis. She digs it. I put too much formal stuff in my portfolio. I sent Long Beach some more of my true voice stuff. Speaking of Long Beach, they got Gerald Locklin and last night I read his poem, A Season in Heck. I can relate. Well, I am off to listen to Allen Woodman and Ron Carlson read two rooms down from my office. Then it is off to Sedona for the Arizona All Star Slam. Last night I got to roast Larry Preston a little. That was a pleasure. What a cool guy! My back is still bothering me. YUK! or should I say... Ouch! |
