I spend a lot of time and mental energy dealing with overcoming biology.

We're run by a number of chemicals that can do a great job of ruining our lives, sometime literally, depending on their amount and location. A little too much of this, a little too little of that, and you're working double time to offset imbalances that there is no explanation for their cause. We can regulate that which does not want to be controlled, all in exchange for whole other sets of imbalances.

On the question of nature versus nurture, I just wish only one side was mucking about with my life. At least one side at a time, please?

And if it's not me, it's the people around me.

We're all chained to the mast of our upbringing, on a wild sea of genetic dispositions. And I'm feeling a little seasick at the moment....
