It's interesting the various uses of journals, from a high-tech update to a personal diary, to bullhorn attention-getter, to community respositories of information. I think it's wonderful that there's so many people using blogs and the like to say something, especially if it's reasoned and thought about.

I'm not sure why I started mine really.

I guess if I rationalized it, it would be for me to work out any number of personal issues, add to the clutter of political and social advocacy out on the web, but also possibly the most far-fetched, in some ridiculous hope that someone might read it, say "hey, I'm not the only one out there who's thought X, or been through Y" and maybe make it a little easier for someone else.

Not that I'm some font of wisdom, or have a vast experience of the world. But if there was anyway some incoherant, silly, ranting post of mine would get someone through the day a bit easier, then that would be cool.

But really it's for me to work on me, and occasionally speak about things I feel are important, even if only a few are listening. Because even the act of writing out a rant on something makes me think about it and consider it in more detail than I would otherwise, and I think that's good for me.

So even if I'm confessing silly personal things people don't know, I'm actually thinking about what those are, why someone may not know them, if it's important at all that they know them or not, and what the implications of that are. And just as important, what dark mysteries and twisted things I'm leaving out (and probably how there not really all that dark, mystereous, or twisted).

And I can point out goofy things I see that I can't find anyone interested in except myself, makeing me my best audience.
