My friend passed her driver's license test today, which is a reason to celebrate for both of us.

I know it was a great weight on her, especially after failing before, and with each day it got her down a little more. She is positively bouncy now, and by proxy, me too. I am so happy for her, because she practiced hard, and it was only nerves that made her fail, not any poor driving skills.

She's entirely too hard on herself, so this was just another stone on her. She's had a hard last couple of years, and I really want things to turn around for her, especially in a foreign country away from family and friends.

I am elated to have been able to help her out, and it feels like I've actually done something worthwhile. It's a good feeling to hold onto, and I intend to cling to this for a while.

Let's face it, nothing is more important than the happiness of people you care about.

Also, my wife has calmed down in the past day or so, and while I don't expect it to last, I'll cherish it as long as it does.
