So it looks like we're going to be moving to Portland (80% sure), Oregon at the end of July. Naoto doesn't have the offer letter quite in hand yet, but he has a verbal promise from the company CEO. It's an american branch of a well established Japanese company. (feel of a start up without all the worry)

I am pretty much bursting with excitement and happiness (although there are several other complicated emotions in there, too.) the only place that could probably compete with portland would have been cleveland. But in all other categories besides "important friends and family living there" Porland wins out: bilingual Japanese schools programs, Asian community, liberal and progressive feeling, not too big, not too small, beautiful greenness, wineries within a 30 minute drive...

anyway, that's the news so far.
