...is the name of a short-short (290 words) science fiction story of mine that will be appearing in Fictitious Force soon.

I wrote this story thinking about moving to Portland, and how I approach all my relationships here with the mindset that I am staying here for a long time.

And I forgot that other people whom I meet may not necessarily have the same intention (eagerness) to create a long-lasting life here.

It's been me moving away for the past 13 years, I guess this is the first time I am experiencing the other side of the equation.
