2008 Books #86 My Sweet Folly

Lisa Kleypas has got to be the queen of tortured romance heroes. My Sweet Folly has a romantic hero who thinks he is insane because felonious people are feeding him a drug that causes hallucinations (or not, we never know really if its hallucinations or an "awakening" of powers, sly authoress that she is).

What I liked about this book is that the emotional/physical relationship between the two is more believable than your usual romance fare. She actively dislikes him in a believable way, not just because he's arrogant, but because he's mean and CRAZY.

And even after she's told him she loves him, he still can't quite trust her.

Very nice. With bonus East Indian elements.
