me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Train Show!

JL and I made our annual pilgrimage to the Botanical Garden in the Bronx to see the Train Show last Friday. If you live in NYC and haven't been, go go go. If you're coming in from out of town and looking for something to do, go go go. It's not about the trains (though if you're taking little boys, the trains will keep them occupied, much shrieking and staring). It's about the landscape the trains travel through: famous New York places constructed entirely of plant materials. Like this:

old penn station
Old Penn Station

guggenheim
The Guggenheim

brooklyn bridge
The Brooklyn Bridge

detail -- windows
A detail

holiday lights
And besides, they have some great holiday lights.
