Good Morning!

I've been a little annoyed lately. I won't get into why -but it seems to me lately -people are basically users. Why is that?

I've seen "editors" and "publishers" pulling all sorts of crap that just bites my ankles and pisses me off.

Recently, I got into a huge, heated debate with a publisher (ahem -cough-cough choking back name).... I'll post the heated debate in my next blog entry... it's rather long.

I also found a certain "editor" quite pethatic. She spent months and months sitting on stories and then tells us she lost all the stories. Finally -we decide to nix the entire anthology and had to tell the authors. We also found out (after she was put in charge of editing, back early 2003) that she is a horrible editor no less. She has a pretty messed up reputation just now and with this anthology busted too that just added to her fine resume. *grits teeth*

This business is unforgiving, that I know and I find that sad -but to screw around with authors time and hold their works from being published for a year --that is not accepted by this girl. Bad, bad business indeed. Yes, big mouth Brutal -wrote her and spoke her peace and then some of what she thought of things. I'm BRUTAL am I not? I must stand up when it appears someone is just being careless and don't even appear to give a damn.

Another thing that has annoyed me: Ever notice how when you leave a "publishing" market (If you worked with some) how the authors all 'befriend' you but when you leave said market -so do they. Then suddenly when you are working with another or have other projects --suddenly they come out of the woodworks again? I have found this to be the case.

I also found -although ones "read" my newsletter --"friends" or should I say, So-called friends, pick and choose. They don't go read places where I have my work -heavens that would be too much to ask, wouldn't it? But they sure recognize new projects they might get in on? Hmmm. Again, isn't that ironic? You can't believe how many I heard from wanting in on "Dolls" anthology -(not talking about ones that kept in touch with me and viewed as friends -but I am talking about ones that never write and only seem to find the time when they think they'll get in on a project with me.) That seems weird and I was not born yesterday! Come on, just because I am a blonde, don't treat me like an idiot and insult my intelligence. I know what you are doing and what's going on... Really, I do. *rollseyes*

Another thing I find annoying. I went to the coffee house a few days ago and I decided I wanted a flavored coffee. Now if you know me -you know I LIKE REG. COFFEE please. But it was windy, chilly, and I felt a little under the weather and thought: Hmm, Swiss Chocolate Almond sounded like a creamy delight to try. Well, "We're out of that..." was the retort. BULLSHIT... isn't that how it goes?

I went to walmart and purchased their "Swiss Chocolate Almond" and frankly, 10bucks for a measily amount was insane. It wasn't like it was GEVALIA. I do splurge and once in a while order from Gevalia. A few of you even got a Gevalia package for Christmas, right?

Well, today, I am drinking my regular coffee while my sweet daughter, Lizzy, is drinking the choco almond. It just didn't mean the same once I had to go hunt it down... I mean, I just wanted a cup of coffee on my way home from shopping -not go shopping for coffee too. *heebies, I am exhausted and pissy*

Ever watch Dennis Leary's LOCK & LOADED skit? That's how I feel at coffee houses. If you missed it -it is the funniest and best skit since George Carlin. I do like Leary's L&L routine. You would too... and in honor of the man -I feel like doing the "fuck you" dance on the white house lawn myself. (that is not a political statement either --if you watched the routine -you know what he was saying... it was hilarious)
