In theory this'll make it easier for me to work out what to cut and what to move around, but it still looks like it'll be a hard slog. The crits for The Bunyip have started to come in and they look positive thus far. Which reminds me - it's been awhile since I've critiqued stories on Critters, so I should get a few of those done tomorrow on top of my other stuff.
I finally got to read the final thrilling instalment of Rajnar Vajra's Shootout at the Nokai Corral in the May 2003 issue of Analog. This was a highly enjoyable serial, mixing Westerns with SF in a new and interesting way. As in previous instalments, there were plenty of surprises and the ending leaves room for a possible sequel (although the loose ends do seem to be wrapped up nicely). My other favourites in this issue included: Steven Bratman's The Immortality Plague and Don D'Ammassa's A Good Offense. Oh yeah - I ordered Michael Jasper's Intracities anthology today (after reading about it on his blog). Looks like there's some good stuff in there and I'm looking forward to reading that!
