Mood:
Extremely tired

So much for taking a look at the novel today - I seemed to be too damn tired to do anything creative, although I did manage to go through A New Breed of Golfer and divide the structure into clumps. In theory this'll make it easier for me to work out what to cut and what to move around, but it still looks like it'll be a hard slog.

The crits for The Bunyip have started to come in and they look positive thus far. Which reminds me - it's been awhile since I've critiqued stories on Critters, so I should get a few of those done tomorrow on top of my other stuff.

I finally got to read the final thrilling instalment of Rajnar Vajra's Shootout at the Nokai Corral in the May 2003 issue of Analog. This was a highly enjoyable serial, mixing Westerns with SF in a new and interesting way. As in previous instalments, there were plenty of surprises and the ending leaves room for a possible sequel (although the loose ends do seem to be wrapped up nicely). My other favourites in this issue included: Steven Bratman's The Immortality Plague and Don D'Ammassa's A Good Offense.
If I can keep up this brisk pace, in another few months I might actually be able to read issues as they come out!

Oh yeah - I ordered Michael Jasper's Intracities anthology today (after reading about it on his blog). Looks like there's some good stuff in there and I'm looking forward to reading that!

What I'm Reading:
Hacking Matter by Wil McCarthy
Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction (F&SF), June 2003
