The first part is pretty dry stuff, but that can be remedied with the addition of a thrilling (?) police procedural subplot. Unfortunately that'll have to wait until I'm done with the main plot thread. It's interesting seeing how my writing has improved over the course of the novel and how I've progressed even further since I last worked on it (back in February). I shudder every time I think of the huge amount of work yet to be done, and worse still, the massive rewrite job I'll have on my hands once it's done! Still, I think I can continue on with it as something of a learning exercise, even if it doesn't end up seeing the light of day. This afternoon I'll run through my notes and outline the next couple of scenes so I can get writing! The critiques for The Bunyip continue to come in. This most recent lot seem to be digging deeper, raising some interesting questions about flow and structure. Maybe the next draft won't be as straightforward as I initially thought...
