Doesn't time fly? I've been doing this journal thing for a month now and haven't missed a day! During that time I haven't done terribly much writing, but I did get back to work on one story - it's not much, but it'll do. I'm going to be busy with the interview and travel from Thursday to Saturday next week, so I probably won't be able to update on those days. Since few people read this anyway, I figure that's not such a big deal :)

I'm really hoping I can figure out that plot problem with Heavy Rains soon and get the damn thing submitted at last! I've also got to work on my motivation and actually do more writing if I hope to improve and increase my inventory of stories. Finding time for writing might be difficult from November onward (depending on how that job interview goes), but that's just something I'll have to figure out when the time comes.

We weren't actually planning on going anywhere this weekend (aside from doing some shopping), but yesterday we decided we'd get out in the fresh air while the weather was still good. As it turned out, today was excellent weather-wise with summery temperatures and not a cloud in the sky :)

First stop was a corn maze in Caledonia. This thing took about an hour to get through and was a good deal more complicated than the one we went to last year. Thankfully a map was provided so we didn't have to wander around aimlessly if we got lost. After that we headed over to the Pumpkin Patch which was about 5 miles down the road. The place was an absolute madhouse with a constant stream of cars entering and families everywhere. We had lunch there, then picked up some more doughnuts and cider after checking out the Halloween decorations. The whole place was really for families with kids, but we still enjoyed looking around just the same :) There isn't anything like this in Australia, so it's all still a novelty for me!

We started watching Brazil this evening, but will continue tomorrow. I'll post some thoughts on the movie in tomorrow's entry.
