Today I got a nice surprise in the mail, in the form of a rejection letter with an attached hand-written note. This was for one of my older stories, and I was pleased to see the market was holding onto it for awhile to consider for publication. Even though it didn't make the cut, it was heartening to get something other than the usual form rejection letter :)

Rather than going out to dinner today to celebrate St. Valentine's Day (and being faced with huge crowds and equally huge prices), Carrie and I decided to go out for lunch at the local Panera Bread. It was quite busy, but we didn't have to wait around too long for our order. It was a perfect day weather-wise, too. We also did our bit to keep the chocolate, flower and greeting card industries afloat :)

Since we haven't watched any movies in awhile, yesterday we decided to see what was on offer at the video store. We ended up with Traffic (which Carrie had seen already) and American Wedding. I'll post some thoughts on these once I've watched them.
