This weekend was fairly uneventful. I took Carrie to the airport on Saturday for her trip to Michigan for a friends baby shower, and spent the weekend alternately lounging around, doing yard work, getting stuck into some home handyman stuff, and tidying the place up a bit. On Sunday evening I picked her up again and we got back fairly late. On the plus side, the journey took half the time it used to, now that we're closer to the airport :)

I was hoping to write a new story, but that didn't eventuate. I suspect I may have been procrastinating by directing my energies into household chores instead; that and aimless net surfing, checking journals repeatedly, and reading news online. Oh well. The place does look a little tidier than it did before the weekend :)

I'm not quite sure what the problem is with my writing motivation. I was feeling all energized about it when I finished the editing on an old story the other week, but since then I've felt listless and unmotivated. I've had ample time to tap out some words here and there, but haven't done so. Tiredness might be a factor?

It'd be great to return to those productive months earlier this year when I was churning out a story a week, or a couple of thousand words a day on the long since abandoned novel. Then again, being out of work back then and having plenty of free time might have had something to do with that....

Things are going to be pretty hectic this week with last minute packing and other arrangements. Then we're off to New Orleans! I can't wait! Maybe I'll even get some story ideas while we're there :)
