I finished off the new story over the weekend after an all-night writing session, and incorporated Carrie's editing last night. This one scrubs up pretty well, I reckon--let's hope some editor out there agrees with me :) I didn't get much writing done on my day off Friday, but I did put together the futon. Already the cats have done a wonderful job of coating it with black and white fur, and they seem to agree that it is quite comfortable. On Saturday we ran some errands, then went to see In Good Company, starring Dennis Quaid, Topher Grace (That 70's Show) , and Scarlett Johansson (Lost in Translation). That was a good movie, and better than I'd expected. After that we had ribs at the local rib joint. On Sunday the only thing of note was our visit to Trader Joe's, where we picked up a leg of lamb (much cheaper than most supermarkets), some Australian beef patties (these have flavour!), chimichangas, and other assorted goodies. It's well worth a visit :) Yesterday I found out that I placed a winning bid in the Clarion midnight auction (see earlier): Gunning for the Buddha by Michael Jasper. I've been looking forward to this one for ages! It still seems to be pretty scarce, but I've heard it'll be gaining wider release shortly. Alas, I didn't win the Michael Bishop book I was after, since bidding got a tad too crazy for me. I might have to have a gander at Abebooks.... The stats table is still looking anemic. I need to work on submissions, but that's going to be difficult since I don't have much on hand that I can send out. Oh, I have plenty of things to edit and polish, and I can see the new story pipeline starting to fill, but it'll be awhile before I can increase the submission tally. I better get cracking :)
