2005-03-13 9:36 PM Writing marathon Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Tired Read/Post Comments (1) My first goal for March writing madness month is complete! I finished the new story this morning after a marathon all-nighter. It'll need a fair bit of editing, but I can't take too long--it has to be out the door by the end of the week. It's also a bit long at this stage (around 7800 words), so I'm hoping to trim that down to 5K if possible. After that's done, then it's on to cleaning up and submitting an old story, and writing a new one. That ought to keep me busy this month :) The weekend before last wasn't terribly busy, nor was this one (aside from the writing). Last weekend we watched I, Robot which was reasonably entertaining for an action flick, although it could've been much better (Will Smith seemed to be just going through the motions). We also had a nice country-style dinner at Cracker Barrel, which is a first (we usually only go there for breakfast). This weekend we went to a nice Japanese restaurant, which was one of those where everyone sits around a big table and the chef cooks your dinner right there. They make it all very theatrical with leaping flames and slick moves with the implements. The food was very good too. When we got back home we watched the Megadeth : VH1 Behind the Music Extended version DVD, which was very interesting and eye-opening (I'm surprised Dave and his bandmates are still alive!). Then it was on to the writing festivities. After crowing about reaching 1000 work units completed for SETI@Home the other day, I went and switched to the new BOINC client software and had to start from zero! This was rather annoying, but a necessary evil apparently, since they calculate things differently now. Oh well, I'll just have to keep the PCs on for longer to regain lost ground. Argghh!
