I had a real hard time getting started with the writing tonight. I'd planned on continuing the war story, but I soon realized I didn't have a clue where to take it! That'll require some thought before I can make further progress.

When that didn't pan out, I scoured the ideas file and looked at a list of 'weekly words' we'd used as writing prompts in the critique group, once upon a time. Nothing really appealed to me there, so I skimmed through the Moleskine notebook, looking for other ideas. I eventually found one from early last year that sounded interesting, and I'd actually outlined quite a bit of it, too :)

I soon had a gruesome little 384 word opening scene to a tale about a man pitting his wits against nature. His luck does change, but only in the end will he realize that perhaps it wasn't for the better after all. Heheheh :)
