Late last night I spent some time trimming one of my older stories to send to another market, and I reckon it is the better for it.

Tonight I had a go at a rewrite on Heavy Rains, but decided I liked the original better, so I scrapped the new edits and sent it out again. I also revisited Fear the Jackalope after some slush-reader comments, but figured that was fine as-is, and sent that one out, too.

At this stage, I reckon my time is better spent working on new stories than dwelling on the old ones. I do make exceptions for those stories I've never sent out, since I haven't expended any effort to polish most of those yet. In any case, I've got more than enough story ideas to keep me busy writing for a long time :)

Today was fairly relaxing. I spent some time working on a story critique, but that was about the extent of my productivity.

We had our coconut shrimp appetizer and turkey dinner, followed by some mint cheesecake while we watched Million Dollar Baby. We enjoyed the food and the movie, although the latter was a bit of a downer near the end.

This weekend I need to get cracking on that anthology tale. I've been saying that for weeks now, but I'm hoping I'll finally get to it this time. I've been focusing more on story submissions lately, you see. Excuses, excuses ;)
