2005-11-30 12:23 AM Idea generation phase Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Contemplative Read/Post Comments (0) I continued my anthology tale musings this evening, with more idea noodling and scribblings in the notebook. I came up with something about half an hour ago that should be more workable compared with the strange assortment of ideas I had over the weekend, but it needs a little more fleshing-out yet. I thought I had the idea yesterday with a tech-heavy SF piece, but I'm pretty sure the idea has been done to death before. It became even less appealing when I considered it further upon waking this morning, so it was back to the drawing board. I generally find that's the true test of whether a given idea will turn into a story: am I as engaged with it the next morning, or does it seem ridiculous? I checked the notebook and observed that I've been pondering this thing off and on since late August! Last month I was on the verge of writing two stories for this, with one story opening completed and a rough outline jotted down for the other. Neither one seemed to work particularly well, although they may get written one day if I can fix them. So here I am less than two weeks before the antho deadline, and I'm still pondering various ideas. Though, I'm not too worried yet--I've finished writing stories with a handful of days to spare for two other anthologies in the past ;) Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
