Hmmm... that rapscallion joshrountree has tagged me for the weird habits meme. Strewth! I don't have any weird habits, so what am I going to do? Okay, maybe there are a few....

The Rules: The first player of this game starts with the topic "five weird habits" and people who get tagged need to write an entry about their five weird habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next five people to be tagged and link to their web journals. Don't forget to leave a comment in their blog or journal that says "You have been tagged" (assuming they take comments) and tell them to read yours.

1. Whenever I add a new hardcover book to my collection, I must cover the dustjacket with a mylar or polyester cover before reading it. One needs to keep off fingerprints and dust and prevent creasing, you know....

2. I slather tomato sauce (ie ketchup) on scrambled eggs to add flavour. They just aren't the same without it.

3. Like joshrountree, I also arrange my CD collection in order of band name. CDs must be kept in their cases when not in use, and the disc surface must not be touched. The same goes for DVDs, except they are arranged by title. I am concerned that the CD/DVD cabinet is now full and the overflow is arranged per habit 4.

4. I seem to enjoy stacking books, papers, CD cases, and anything else that'll stack on flat surfaces. These articles form piles, also known as 'surface mess.' The pile must remain in place until such time as it begins to irritate me or it is about to topple, at which point I try to find an appropriate home for each article.

5. Before I send out a story manuscript for the first time I do a careful read-through, scrupulously addressing typos, formatting, and word choice. If I don't, the editor is sure to spot any such oversights and immediately respond to my submission with a terse form rejection.

And I suppose I must tag the following lucky contestants: douglain, jlundberg, lonp, nomissnewo and michael_jasper.
