Happy Halloween! I've got the day off today to take Jack to another pediatrician appointment and to spend some time with the family on his first Halloween. He's dressed in his little pumpkin outfit at the moment and being very well behaved. It should be a fun day :)

Carrie's parents returned home yesterday, so it's just the three of us now. It was great having them here while we adjusted to our new life as parents. It would've been a good deal harder without them. I ended up going back to work last Wednesday, which was pretty hard after all the excitement and sleepless nights. Jack started sleeping better later in the week though, so I haven't been feeling too zombified lately. Now that I've said that, he'll no doubt keep us up all night from now on ;)

Over the weekend I managed to get some writing done. Huzzah! It has been quite awhile since I had the time or inclination to work on some stories. I continued a collaborative piece that has been in progress for years, with large gaps between instalments. Hopefully I've given my collab partner enough weird stuff to work with! I'd like to get this one wrapped up soon so we can work on a new one. It's been fun so far :)

In addition to the collab tale, last Wednesday I set myself the goal of completing a Halloween story by November 1st. I wrote one last year and figured writing another would be the perfect way of kickstarting my writing again after a long hiatus. After scribbling down several ideas that I can't possibly do justice in the time available, I came up with something I should be able to churn out over the next couple of days. I better get back to it!
