And this ends the story of "The Chair That Almost Wasn't."

The one day we get snow, it was delivered and by a very nice gentleman from the Yellow Trucking Company - no relation to that Recliner City that I had so much trouble with. We looked it all over and it's now mine.

We had a bit of problem getting it from the breakfast room through the kitchen and into the living room. We had to take a detour through the dining room, out by the front door and into the other end of the living room where the doorways were wider. That thing needed 39 inches of clearance!

But we did it.

Once I got in it, I felt like I was sitting in a cloud. There was a little glitch though. There is no lever on the side to put the footrest up or down. I didn't know what to do. You could yank it up manually but I wasn't strong enough to push back and have the footrest go up. Paul did it once but I was flummoxed.

I went online and found a site with this chair on it (I could have gotten it on Amazon (would you believe this?) for the same price and delivered in 4-6 days!!!!). On their site about the chair there were a bunch of up-close photos of it, and one showed a lever on the INSIDE of the left-hand armrest, where the side meets the seat. A metal lever barely visible that, when you sit in it, you pull back and the footrest pops up. The only negative is that the lever doesn't bring the footrest back down, you have to do that with your legs/feet and I can see a few muscles will be used in this process. Which is probably a good thing for me!

I think I'll go downstairs now and chill out in my NEW CHAIR!
