2012-05-12 10:54 AM That's-a Nice-a Pizza!- Oh yeah. I got my wish on our Anniversary the other day. I got my pizza from It was a funny kind of Anniversary this year but one that neither of us will ever forget. The boat-on-the-rocks, that basically set the tone for the day. But Lady Luck was with us that day, and by mid-afternoon, Paul was back home, happily constructing traps in the basement, as usual. His boat rescued in the morning. The following day he was back out lobstering. All's well that ends well. But for our anniversary celebration, I made him a nice card on my computer, which I always do lately for everyone since I don't get out to the shops. He liked it. He apologized for not giving me a card BUT had a good excuse. Last year, on our 25th Anniversary, he had gone out and bought a card, a regular old Anniversary card, but then he remembered it was a rather special one (a quarter of a century of married bliss), so he saved the original card and went back and got me a 25th Anniversary Card. He didn't tell me about that last year. He kept the first card to give to me THIS year, our 26th. But of course he could not find it. He said he has had it somewhere in his room all this time, and has even run across it quite often when moving stuff around, but all of a sudden he cannot find it. Anyway, I couldn't care less about a card. I had fun making his, and he rescued his boat from the ocean, so I had nothing to complain about. Besides, all I wanted out of this Anniversary was pizza from Bertini's of Salem and a big hug. Dogs loved this plan, too, because they always get the crusts when we are done with the rest of it. They know when it's pizza night around here... And that's what I got, including the big ((hug)). He got three pizzas since they are smallish in size, and they only make one size there. They have made this exact pizza for almost as long as I have been alive, which is quite a long time. It doesn't look like much, no bells and whistles on this pizza - oh no. I like a plain cheese pizza, which the one above is, but I had Paul get 3 of them, one for him with pepperoni and green peppers, one for me with only mushrooms (which Paul won't touch with a 10-foot pole), and one for the refrigerator, the plain one above, for me to have piecemeal for lunches for the next few days. Bertini's hasn't changed their recipe in all these years, either. It is the same tasting pizza as it was when I was a kid. Amazing. Not fancy. But it's one of those things I just go nuts over. Normally I make my own pizza, but this was a real treat. After a day full of ups and downs, rockin' and rollin' of boats, highs and lows, ifs-ands-or-buts, and in no uncertain terms worries galore, our day ended well and quietly with bellies full of the best darn pizza in town. Cheers, Bex
