On the Sixteenth of April My True Love Gave to Me...

Well, maybe it wasn't strictly my "true love" who gave this to me, but Mother Nature... what are you doing to us?
I wonder if you can tell anything by the pawprints left in the snow first thing in the morning?
These pawprints were put there at around 4:30 or 5:00 this morning. The snow is more like hardened slush now and the pawprints are permanent - until it all melts, that is.
Kip likes to sit in the snow. Emmalee likes to eat the snow. Paul doesn't like to shovel the snow. And I don't care one way or the other about the snow except for one little thing -- it's cold out there now and my heat keeps kicking on! That I don't like.
So... snow, snow, go away... come again another day! (but not until NEXT winter please?)
One good thing, though..
..it's greened up the lawn out front in the garden. We had rain all night long here and then sometime in the wee early morning hours it turned to this white stuff. The greener it gets, the happier I am. It's always a contest between Mother Nature and the dogs to see who can turn the lawn either green or yellow...
Over here...
...you can see I'm preparing for my herb garden. On the side deck. If winter ever leaves us and if my back problems ever go away (I've just pulled/injured my spine/back area big-time - twice - in the last few days so I am very limited in what I can and cannot accomplish around here).
I had Paul round up all the empty clay pots he could find and set them out there on the old TV credenza - ready for planting herbs and flowers - when Mother Nature decides we've had enough of this wintery stuff and finally brings a bit of real spring weather to our door.
And just to remind me what growing things actually look like in the garden...
Last year... ready to bloom... can't wait for that to happen this year. It's been one helluva long winter and we are so ready for it to end-once-and-for-all!
