Rose: David, you drink some of the water and then I'll drink it.
David doesn't drink.
Rose: David, I bet some magic is going to happen. I'm going to look away, and when I look back I bet you'll have drunk some water. It's going to be magic.
David drinks.
Rose: You did it! Good boy!

She got this straight out of my playbook. I've been convincing David to get in his car seat by turning my back and telling him he's going to magically appear in the car seat and surprise me. With a little coaxing, he usually does. This is parenting I'm happy to have emulated.
