David, luckily, made a plan several weeks ago. He is Captain Jack Sparrow. He hasn't actually seen the movie because it is rated PG13, but he plays the wii lego game. The outfit fell into place rather easily. We have a great costume store nearby, though driving there is hard work. Even though we went the second week of October, the store was packed. I paid for the Captain Jack Sparrow wig, and David bought himself a pirate gun and pirate medallion, both of which immediately broke. Thank heavens for hot glue guns. We then added clothes he already owned and a face paint beard, mustache, tattoo, and eyeliner. David topped it all off with the Jack Sparrow walk. For those of you unfamiliar with the Johnny Depp character, Jack Sparrow walks like he's three sheets to the wind. I have it taped in slow mo for the grandparents' enjoyment. If you haven't seen Rose yet, don't tell her I told you what she is. She wants you to guess, and woe unto us all if we guess wrong. She is King Tut. She made the entire costume herself and did a fantastic job, though the fact that she was designing and building last night made me nervous. She has a headpiece, a beard, and a full body painted sarcophagus with her name written in hieroglyphics. We also gave her the mummy eye make up. I think it is phenomenal; Rose doesn't think it's perfect. She had a vision, and it is not matching it. Oh, the perils of being a perfectionist. Luckily, the first person we bumped into immediately knew who she was. We had to have things ready because we went to the neighborhood business trick or treat event. I was a cow.
