I'm coining a phrase today - the "A-wonder." As in, I still wonder how the hell this story made the front page.
(To make matters worse, I wrote it.) But it reminded me of an interesting discussion we had on NewsHole last week, about our J-School's gravitating towards new media/multi-media, and, like, you know - the, um, convergence of, like, stuff. I spent yesterday afternoon on the links, shooting footage for a video tour that accompanies the story - which even in 106 degrees is a hell of a way to pass the time. The scary thing is, I did this all with the video function on my digital cam, which you can buy at your local Targe'. (See: the other Newshole discussion on citizen journalism.) Anyways, if you scroll about halfway down you can check it out with the "view the course" link. And yes, all the "um's" and "uh's" are because a.) I'm ad-libbing and b.) did I mention it was 106 fucking degrees??! ...I hate you all. More multimedia coming soon... [COUGHKTRNA!] Excuse me.
