Ecca
My Journal

My feet will wander in distant lands, my heart drink its fill at strange fountains, until I forget all desires but the longing for home.

Keep in touch.

Autumn in May

Many poems are written
about the exquisite fleeting beauty of
cherry blossoms
pale warm snows of spring

I will celebrate the beauty
of cherry leaves, fallen
brighter than flame against the black earth
"Fear not"
they say to me
"regret not
"that the beauty of new life is fleeting,
"death has a beauty also."

this year they are flames
next year, the black earth
and some year soon,
they will again become cherries.

-Ecca

(if the blossom is snow, brought on by warmth, the leaves are flame, brought on by cold. Neat-O. As Warren reminds me, our winds here come straight up from Antarctica.)
