2004-04-13 8:48 AM THE funniest word Mood: Insensitive Read/Post Comments (4) |
Today I’m going to tell you about the funniest word in the English language. Some of you may think that its pudding, but it’s not. Pudding is only moderately funny, but at least you’re thinking in ‘funny’ terms, daffodil for example is not funny whatsoever. Chicken is quite funny, the way it catches your throat and also the way it makes you think of rubber poultry. No no no, the funniest word in the English language is merkin. Don’t know what a merkin is? It’s a pubic wig, just TRY and think of that without laughing. Now maybe I’m just juvenile (unlikely) but I find that pretty damn funny.
I apologize to those out there that may have a medical condition that calls for the wearing of a merkin, I’m not sure what conditions are merkin-requiring but I’ll bet there’s at least one. Question: does insurance cover the cost of a merkin? I mean, I’m sure they’re not cheap and probably have to be custom fitted and all. Do you get to like try on different colors and sizes in the store before you buy one? I probably need to know all this now since poetic justice would have me stricken with a need for the very accessory that I have just made fun of. I guess there goes Journalscape’s reputation as the provider of “intelligent” blogs. Feel free to leave comments cursing me and this entry for insensitivity.
