Mood:
Happy

Today was very cool. Rob and I slept in until Berek called at 1pm. We then turned on the TV (and found out about the shooting at LAX and the plane crash in San Dimas) and stayed in bed with the news on. We watched TV, cuddled, and I drifted in and out of sleep until around 4pm.

When we finally got out of bed we had a healthy (okay, maybe not) lunch of nuked hot dogs and mini 100 Grand candy bars. Hey, it's a holiday. I figure I'm allowed to eat on a holiday.

We took our time getting ready and Berek came over around 7:30pm. We headed out to Calabasas to see a fireworks show, but were turned away by the police. Even though it was a free show, you had to have a ticket and we didn't. So we headed over to Woodland Hills to see a show there. We parked in a nearby mall lot and walked to the park where the show was. The fireworks were very cool. A lot better than I thought a community run show would be. A good time was had by all (Berek, Rob, and I) and I'm very glad we went.

After the fireworks show came the difficult task of finding a place to eat. It was after 10pm on the 4th of July. Not an easy task. So we headed back to my area and grabbed foodies at Bob's Big Boy over in Toluca Lake. And that's when we began to get giddy. I think the waitress was a little scared and a little amused by us.

After foodies Berek dropped Rob and I off at home and, well, now I'm on here.

All in all it was a very good 4th of July. But then again it doesn't take much to top last year. Last year Rob and I got stuck in my apartment building. We had planned to go on a picnic during the day and see a fireworks show at night, but a high speed chase ended on our street corner around noonish and the police wouldn't let anyone in or out of the area until close to midnight when they realized that the gas cans they sent in hit the moron on the head and killed him. *le sigh* People need to realize that in high speed chases the police always win (they have helicopters people!!!) and all that running does is rack up the charges. But then again most people who run from the cops don't really have that much brain power to begin with.
