I called in to Sav On for a refill today. I'm on a pill for my acid reflux which not only keeps that at bay, but is also starting to heal an ulcer that developed in my esophogus. An ulcer, that without the medication, would become cancerous and probably end up killing me in a not so nice way. In other words, I need these pills to stay alive. After calling the Rx in I got a call back from the drug store saying that my insurance would no longer cover these pills. They're very expensive pills (around $300 for a month's supply) and the insurance company won't pay for them for anyone anymore. How can they ethically do this? How can they ethically not pay for a medication that is trying to get someone healthy? When without the medication the patient can develop a very nasty type of cancer. I HAVE A FUCKING HOLE IN MY FUCKING ESOPHOGUS AND THEY WON'T PAY FOR THE FUCKING MEDICATION??? What the hell????? So today I got a two weeks supply. Almost $150. I'm a student, I have no job, and my Dad pays over $700 a month to have me insured. You think they could at least pay for pills that are a necessity. What the hell is going on the the insurance system in this country????? Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
