Rob and I had been planning on going to the mall and maybe seeing Men In Black 2 on Friday, but things didn't turn out that way. We ended up getting up just long enough for me to realize that I had a migraine. I then went back to bed to try and shake it. Things got worse and for awhile I prayed for death, but by around 9pm I was feeling better. We called up Berek to see if he wanted to hang so late at night, and he was up for it. Unsure of what to do, Rob and I looked through an L.A. Weekly for club information. That's when I came up with the idea to call the Nuart theatre and see what the midnight movie was going to be. I'm glad we called. They were showing Better Off Dead (in my opinion, one of John Cusack's best). Berek and I were jazzed to go and Rob had never seen it before. It was very cool seeing it in the theatre. It came out in 1985 (around when I was 11) so I'm pretty sure I didn't see it in the theatre back then. I love that movie and had a great time. Rob seemed to like it as well and he now knows where a lot of the good quotes such as "It has raisins in it, you like raisins", "Go that way, really fast, if something gets in your way, turn" and "Gee Ricky, I'm sorry your Mom blew up" come from. On Saturday we actually got our asses out of bed before dusk. Berek, Rob, and I headed out to Brea. We hit the mall for about two hours and then headed over to that neat area we found last weekend. We wandered around for a bit (got some tea at Starbucks, some ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery, etc.) and then hit the Matrix. I had a Midori Sour and an Ameretto Sour. I had to stop half-way through the Ameretto Sour because it was making me feel very ill. Not in a drunk way, I was still very sober (it takes a lot to make me even feel tipsy), but in a "I'm gonna pass out and puke" sort of way. Unfortunately, that was the extent of my alcohol that night. Which bites cause I at least wanted to get kind of tipsy. Berek and Rob thought it might be a good idea to get some food in me, so we headed to a nearby FatBurger. I've never had those burgers, but let me tell you something, the grease does not aid when you are nausious. I ended up feeing worse, and they offered to call it a night, but I said no. I know that Berek and Rob were looking forward to karaoke, and I wasn't about to poop out on them. We headed to a place called Lucy Woo's and got a table ASAP because I was having a hard time standing. By this time I was nausious, dizzy, out of it, and going back and forth between being very hot and very cold. Once we grabbed a booth I looked over the menu and decided to get some tea. They had a ginger tea, and I know that ginger is very good for when you're feeling sick, so I ordered a pot. I also ordered some soup. The did the trick. Within the hour I was feeling much better. Berek entered a karaoke contest (after much poking on my part) and kicked ass. He was one of the best there, but didn't win. I'm thinking it was because he wasn't a regular. It seemed to be the people like the bar tenders who ended up winning even though some of them were less than stellar. Oh well, Berek kicked ass and I don't think he needs to win a contest to know it. We didn't head out of karaoke until around 1:30am. By the time Rob and I got home we were very sleepy and pretty much passed out. Yesterday was pretty boring. I did some school work and Rob stuffed envelopes for something he had to mail out for work. Unfortunately, I was only able to get my reading for today done. I didn't end up having the time to outline or study for the midterm that I have today. Not a good thing. I'm not too worried, because the midterm only counts (20%) if it's better than the grade you get on your final. It just means I'll have to work extra hard on studying for my final (which is a week from Wednesday). Gah. I need a vacation and it doesn't look like I'm getting one. After my final I have to prep for the MPRE and after the MPRE the fall semester starts. I swear, if I don't get some time off soon I'm going to go stark raving mad.
