It's Raining In My Kitchen

Rob got up before the crack o' dawn this morning because he had to be in to work by 6:30am. My Mom and I got up soon thereafter because we had a full day ahead of us.

My aunt Jean (who is also my wedding planner and a florist) and my Maid of Honor - Mindy - came over today and the four of us went up to the place where the wedding will be held. Jean went over some ideas for how to decorate and we nailed down the menu and some of the little details with the staff.

After that we all headed over to a place that bakes wedding cakes and got to sample the different flavors of cakes. Yum! I don't like chocolate and Rob didn't want fruit pieces in the cake, so we were left with cremes. We tried yellow cake with champagne custard, vanilla custard, and lemon custard. The champagne one tasted too much like alcohol and we were warned that if there were any alcoholics at the wedding that they couldn't have any of the cake. So we didn't go with the champagne custard. The vanilla custard was very good, but with the yellow cake it ended up being just a tad too plain. The lemon custard was fantastic and we all agreed it was the best of the bunch. I called Rob at work to make sure that sounded good to him. He gave me the go-ahead and so we're having our wedding cake be yellow cake with a lemon custard.

After that we all went out to lunch at The Good Earth and then headed back to my place. When we got home I found out that the kitchen and part of the room attached to it were flooded. I called maintanance and they're sending a plumber here tomorrow. Apparently they were able to make it so the toilet stops backing up soap bubbles. But now those soap bubbles come through the area in the wall where our washing machine drains out and flooded the place. *frustrated sigh*

We hung out and went over the wedding colors, what kind of flowers I want where, and things like that. Mindy headed home in the late afternoon so she could beat traffic, but Jean stayed a bit longer cause we needed to finish going over flower and decoration ideas. Rob came home from work at the usual time (though looking very sleepy) and Jean left shortly thereafter.

For dinner, Rob, Mom, and I headed out to Benihana. I made sure to stay far away from the seafood. Rob got my shrimp appetizer. Benihana was fun and I feel a lot better than I did last night. I didn't end up going to the hosptial, the pill my Mom gave me slowly worked.

Okay, I've been on here long enough and my Mom is bored in the other room so it's about time to head off.
