Okay, so this is weird. I saw my aunt Jean a few months ago and she offered to throw my bridal shower. I jumped at the chance and everything seemed good. She called me last weekend right as I was about to walk out the door to Knott's and Rob told her that we were about to leave. She said she would call the next day, but she never did. Instead, my Mom called saying that Jean had been trying to get ahold of me for awhile and needed a guest list and some information for the shower. My Mom gave me her e-mail address and I e-mailed her yesterday to find out what information she needed.

The e-mail I got back from her was really kind of mean. She accused me of not calling her back after she left several messages on my answering machine. I told her I had never gotten any messages from her (and there was never her number on my caller id) and she didn't believe me. She made comments like "oh, I hope your answering machine isn't preventing you from getting important message about your wedding". Rob and I just got this answering machine and there is nothing wrong with it. The only problem we have ever had with it is that people don't push the *# during the out going message. If they push it after the beep that's too late. I asked her if that's what she did and she denied it.

She then told me she decided not to throw me a shower. She sent Mindy (my maid of honor) an e-mail telling her that it was all up to her and that she was dropping out. So, it looks as if Mindy will be the one throwing my bridal shower. I'm really kind of disappointed. I know Mindy will do a kick ass job with it, but I was kind of looking forward to having Jean throw the shower and Mindy throw the bachlorette party.

I don't get it. I don't think I did anything to offend her, but why would she behave like this and suddenly decide not to throw the shower? If I did something that bothered her I would like to know, but I can't for the life of me think of what brought all of this about.

And on the weirder side of things, Mindy had sent Jean several e-mails about the shower and her ideas for it. Jean received those e-mails but never responded to them until now. I just don't get it.
