Mmmmmmm, it's raining out. On one hand I love it. It's been far too long since there has been rain in this city. I wouldn't mind just walking around outside for awhile in it. Yeah, I'll probably grow a third eye or something considering what's in our rain, but still. It's so peaceful. And the city looks so beautiful after the rain. It seems to purify everything it touches.

However, it also has its bad points. My drive home from school was hell because it was pouring on Malibu Canyon. These are the times when I am so glad I have an SUV. My Mustang would slide all over the freeway but Lexus Luthor seems to have almost no problem when it's raining out. I love my car. The rain also sucked because it turned the 101 into a parking lot. People in this city don't know how to drive in the rain and it bugs me cause I learned to drive in a city where rain really didn't effect the roads all that much. But then again LA doesn't have the best drainage system in the world and the streets tend to flood pretty fast. There were also a lot of accidents on my way home. Luckily I made it home fine.

So, while driving home I was not happy about the rain. But now that I'm off the road and in my apartment I'm digging it. There's just something about the smell of rain that is so unbelievably relaxing.

My day to teach my Race and the Law class went very well. My section was on race and popular culture so I did it game show style and even gave out a prize to the winner. Just a $20 gift card to Sam Goody/Suncoast, but people really tried to get that card which is cool.

Tomorrow should be interesting. My Dad called me up earlier this week and said he would be in town for some work things tomorrow and wanted to know if I wanted to grab lunch with him. I was kind of taken aback because he's been out here a lot in the past ten years but rarely takes the time out to see me. I'm keeping things open tomorrow because I would live to see him. I have a sinking feeling that he might cancel on me last minute, but we'll see. I really hope I can meet up with him for a few hours tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
