We showered and headed out of the house around 7:30. We stopped at a 7-11 to get some caffeine and at an ATM because we were out of cash and then went to my hair salon all the way out in Montclair (which oddly enough neighbors Clairmont - not big on the originality, eh?). When they said it would take the entire day to change my hair color, they weren't kidding. We arrived at the salon (Gebhart - which by the way is THE best hair salon for color in the L.A. area) around 9am. Margie (my stylist) put bleach on my reddish brown hair and let it bleach up. After three rounds of bleach she washed it out. And then came a few hours worth of conditioning products. The bleach turned my hair into straw and the conditioning products turned that straw back into hair. Then it was dried and filler was put on it to even everything out. Then washed and dried again and the main color was put on. Then washed and cut (just a little, I'm trying to even it out after getting it all layered last summer) and styled. It was worth the 8 hours in the salon (we left around 5pm). So, my hair is now a strawberry blonde color. It's too red to be blonde and it's too blonde to be red. Thus, strawberry blonde. It takes me a few days to know if I like it or not, so at this point I don't know if I like it better than the reddish brown or not. I know I like it, which is good, I just don't know if it's better than the brown. Only time will tell. It does look cool though. And Rob seems to like it. Then again I think as long as it has some bit of red to it he'll like it. He's got a thing for red heads like most guys have a thing for blondes. Rob is an amazing man. He sat with me for the 8 hours that I was having my hair done. We made up most of our wedding guest list, talked, ordered in Chinese food for lunch, and he drew odd and perverse little animals for me. And a ninja. We were both sleep depped and caffeinated and so we were very giddy. After the salon we headed over to the Montclair shopping mall. I got some lipstick (since none of my current colors go with my new hair color) at a department store. I also wanted to get a new pair of jeans - yes, I know I just bought some the other weekend, however they've gotten too big on me. So I wanted them in a size down. They had them in every size other than the one I was looking for. So I got a belt. Now I can still wear my jeans and they won't try to fall down on me. I also looked around in Bath and Body Works, but they didn't have the lotion that I needed so I'll check for that around home. Rob and I grabbed dinner at Hometown Buffet before heading out. We saw that those restaurants are serving dinner on Thanksgiving and are considering getting dinner there. My Mom won't be out for Thanksgiving and neither of us are up for cooking. But if we can eat out and get a turkey dinner that would be way cool. After dinner we headed back home. We half considered seeing a film, but both of us are a little too tired for that. So, we'll probably just snuggle and maybe watch a DVD. I'm a little worried though, I'm getting a sore throat. I really hope I'm not getting sick. With all the shit that's coming due in school that's the last thing I need right now. Especially since colds and the flu usually end up giving me pneumonia which winds me up in the hospital. So, cross your fingers for me that this sore throat doesn't lead to any sickies. ----------
