Whirlwind Weekend

My head hurts.

This weekend was (for the most part) rather good. I was kept very busy and so now that I'm online again it's time to play catch up with my journal.

Friday night was D&D night. The whole group was there. We ordered in Chinese food (mmmmm, Chin Chin), socialized, and gamed. I'm really digging that game. Recently, it's been a blast.

Saturday Rob and I got up at a decent hour and made a run to the Northridge mall. I went into Torrid to see if I could find a dress that would work for clubbing. I ended up finding a really cool (or so it seemed when I bought it) red asian style dress with a black print on it. VERY pretty. I also picked up a hoodie with cat ears on the hood and a picture of a kitty on the front of it. Also very cool. When we were done shopping at Torrid we headed over to Lane Bryant. It was there that I really lucked out. I ended up finding two very cool suits. One is black with pinkish pinstripes and the other is black with the normal color pinstripes. I also got a bunch of camis to wear under suits. I still need to find a few more suits, but these should be a very good start. Oh, and it was so cute. When I came out of the dressing room in the first suit I tried on (the black one with pink pinstripes) Rob got this goofy grin on his face. I asked him what was up and he said "Wow. You look like a lawyer.". I responded with "Sweetie, I *am* a lawyer.". I thought that was kind of a cool moment.

After Lane Bryant we headed out of the mall and went home. Once we got home we jumped in the shower and got cleaned up. Carrie came over around 6:30pm and the three of us ate dinner and got dressed and ready for the club (Dungeon). Rob, Carrie, and I took a cab over to the club. We had the cab pick us up at 9pm because when we go there with Berek it usually takes a while to get there due to traffic. The cabbie went 85 the whole way and got us there in 3 minutes (that's from the valley to hollywood - damn). Since Berek worked until 9pm we wanted to get there early so that we could grab a table. Unfortunately, we were there *way* early. We had to wait outside (and it got cold - I was in a sleeveless dress) for a little over an hour before they let us into the club. On the bright side, we did manage to get a table (and a booth none-the-less). We lucked out because two of the four booths were reserved for the night. The only reason we were able to get a booth was because we were the first ones in the club. So, it all worked out for the best in the end.

We drank, but none of us got drunk. I didn't even get tipsy. We had a good view of the floor show and spent our time drinking, munching on really tasty sushi, and watching various people get the crap beaten out of them. I didn't do any dancing because I at least need a good buzz going before I'll get up the courage to go out on a dance floor and I wasn't even tipsy. The only thing that really sucked that night was the fact that I found out the hard way that my really cool dress was made like crap. The damn side slit kept ripping up higher and higher. If it would have gone any higher you could have seen my panties. And that's a feat because I was wearing string bikinis which means that the only part of the panty you can see on the side is a very small strip up near my hip. During our time at the club Bryce decided to stop by. I think Dungeon scared him a little bit. When Berek started getting a bit on the sleepy side we took off and crammed all six of us (Carrie, Bryce, Berek, Pita, Rob, and myself) into Berek's car. It was cramped, but we fit. Berek took the group back to my place so that I could get out of the dress and get into some clothing that wasn't ripping up the side. We then all went to the IHOP over in Burbank for some post club foodies (this time, in separate cars - Carrie and Bryce in Carrie's car, and Rob, Pita, Berek, and I in Berek's car).

Service was slow and our waitress was a tard, but we had a pretty good time none the less. Once we were done there Carrie and Bryce headed off and Berek dropped Rob and I off at home. Except for the dress that kept trying to fall apart, it was a pretty cool night.

Sunday Rob and I slept in. When we finally pulled our asses out of bed we called Berek and Pita and set up a time to meet up. The four of us were planning on going to Medieval Times. Berek and Pita came over right when we were finishing getting ready. Shortly thereafter we headed down to Buena Park. Things were going good up until we were in the left turn lane waiting to turn into the Medieval Times parking lot. That's when Berek noticed that steam was coming out of the hood of his car. We pulled into the lot and pulled over and popped the hood. There was water everywhere. The battery was soaked. We ended up figuring out that there was a rip in a hose and coolant was all over the inside of his engine. We convinced the parking lot attendant to allow us to park there (he was trying to get us into an overflow lot a ways off) because there was no way that the car would have made it to the other lot. Since we were already there Berek decided we might as well see the show (we left the decision up to him). The show rocked. We were in the section for the Green Knight and had a blast even though our Knight kind of sucked. He couldn't win at any of the games (except the final one where every knight wins) and died like a schmo during battle. Rob once yelled out "It's okay to suck!". On the bright side, he was the hottest of all the knights there. Once the show and dinner were done with we made a brief stop in the gift shop and in the bathrooms. Berek's Dad was waiting for us in the parking lot (the man is a God - he drove all the way down to make sure we had a ride home). Berek called AAA and we waited a bit for the tow truck to show up. I was a moron and decided I wouldn't need a hoodie or a jacket when we left (even though I was only wearing a t-shirt) so I was freezing while we waited for the tow truck to show up. Eventually it did and Berek's car got towed to a garage over by Knott's. Berek dealt with the people at the gas station attached to the garage and then we all headed out. We got dropped off at home around 11:30pm. Later than we had thought, but still not too bad considering we had to wait for a tow truck and all that.

We're lucky we got home when we did though because I got pretty sick soon after arriving home. I started feeling sick to my stomach and then a headache that I had for most of the day turned into a full blown migraine. Even two migraine pills and one of those cooling strips on my forehead didn't do much to help me. The migraine lasted through the night and into today. This morning and early afternoon I spent trying to nurse it back down to a headache. Now it's at "major headache" status, but at least I can function well enough to do stuff online and get some laundry done. Blah. I hate it when I get these headaches.
