Piglet Is Made Of Meat

Mood:
Happy about last weekend. Rushed to get this entry done.

Last weekend was rather busy (hence why I haven't posted in a while), but it was also a blast.

Friday night Berek and Pita came over a little bit after Rob got home from work. We ordered in food from Chin Chin's and watched a DVD that they brought over of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. By the time the movie was over with, Pita was pretty much passing out on the floor so we set up our sofa bed for them and turned in. I think Pita and Berek fell asleep rather quickly, and I know that Rob pretty much passed out once his head hit the pillow. Unfortunately I wasn't as lucky. Insomnia struck me and I didn't fall asleep until around 5am. The alarm went off at 6:45am and I groggily got into the shower. When I was done showering I woke up Rob and he in turn woke up Berek and Pita. We all got ready and we left the apartment around 8:30am. Berek borrowed his brother Ben's car for the weekend since his car had some problems last weekend and is still in need of some mechanical attention. We got to Disneyland around 9:30am and ended up getting a pretty good parking spot. We trammed over to the park and decided to hit Disneyland immediatly.

When we got inside the park we were all pretty hungry (it was about 10am) and so we decided to get some breakfast. Berek showed us a place in the park where there is a buffet breakfast and you can mingle with some of the characters. We decided on doing that. Right when we entered Berek got a picture of Piglet and me on his cell phone camera. Yay! Piglet! We got our breakfast and headed over to a table. That was when the antics began. Piglet came over to our table and then Eeyore showed up. Piglet was mean to Eeyore and when Eeyore started walking away sadly I told him that the next time Piglet was mean to him he should turn Piglet into bacon. Eeyore then called Pooh over and told him about the whole Piglet = bacon thing. They started rubbing their tummies and motioning for Piglet to come to them. That's when the Matrix / Karate Kid style kung fu broke out between the three. It was HILARIOUS. Rob stared at me in horror for suggesting that Piglet was made of bacon. Berek and Pita were his hysterics. From there on in, Piglet tried to stay away from me. Needless to say, breakfast was a total blast.

After breakfast we wandered through Tomorrow Land, but didn't feel like going on anything there. So, we headed into Toon Town and Pita mentioned that was one area of the park that she had never been to. We rode "Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin" and wandered around Toon Town for awhile. When we stopped to have some slushies in a little park area we had another amusing run in with a Disney character - Goofy. Pita and I mentioned that we didn't know what the hell Goofy was. Berek and Rob said he was a man-dog. Nope. Pita and I know animals and there's no way Goofy is a dog. He doesn't even have a tail! Goofy over heard us and nodded when Berek said he was a dog. Pita asked him where is tail was and he made the motion of cutting. We all stared in horror when Goofy claimed to have had his tail cut off. Pita and I then got the giggles from all of the sugar we were drinking and lost it because Goofy kept making farty noises with his mouth whenever he would meet someone who wanted his autograph or picture. We then referred to him as the man dog with gas. Berek and Rob dragged us out of there before we really annoyed the farting Goofy.

After Toon Town we took the train that circles tha park over to the New Orleans Square station. We got some non-alcoholic mint julips and chilled out for awhile becase Rob's back was starting to bother him. We had planned on doing Pirates and the Haunted Mansion, but the lines were horrible. So, we checked out some shops in the area and the gallery. *drool* Wow, there was some Haunted Mansion artwork in the gallery that I was so drooling over. I *really* wanted to get framed pictures of the girl who turns into the Medusa and the girl who turns into a black panther, but they were very expensive. I wish I could get them down the road, but they're only available until April 1. Damn. The pics were *so* cool because you could get the normal pic and the pic of after it changed. I wanted the girl-Medusa pics for over the couch and the girl-panther pics for over our bed. *whines* While in the gallery we got some seats in a pretty courtyard area. We then played a game of "yawn". We were all fairly sleepy and kept yawning around in circles. Yeah, we're weird. After we headed down from the gallery we split up for about an hour. Berek and Pita wanted to just look around a bunch of shops because the lines were super long. I thought the line was worth it for Pirates.

So, they went off to shop and Rob and I got in line for Pirates. The wait posted outside was saying 75 minutes, but it was only 32 minutes (Rob timed it). So, Rob and I got to go on Pirates (which made me very happy because it's one of my favorite rides there). Unfortunately, there was an annoying chick behind us who kept whining that the ride sucked because it wasn't anything like the movie. And she kept wondering out loud why they would make the ride so different from the film. *sigh* I guess we had to run into a moron sooner or later.

When we got off the ride we met back up with Berek and Pita and decided to head over to the Winnie the Pooh shop. While there Rob got a Tigger print top hat and picked up some Pooh ears for me (Pita had Minnie ears that Berek got her earlier in the day). We then wandered around a bit and headed over to Blue Bayou for our 7:10 reservation. We had a wonderful (albiet expensive) dinner there. It's a super cool fancy restaurant that's kind of inside of Pirates. If you get a good table you can see the people as they start off on the ride. We had a great time at dinner and when we headed out decided to wait in the super long line for the Haunted Mansion (which is my other favorite ride). After the Haunted Mansion Berek was getting rather sleepy so we headed out of the park.

Some brief stops were made in the Downtown Disney area and then we trammed back to the parking structure. The ride home was pretty uneventful. Berek drove and we talked and listened to Ben's Disney CD. Rob and Pita slept. When we got home we set the sleeper sofa up again and Berek and Pita passed out. Rob and I climbed into bed and Rob also passed out. I, unfortunately, was once again struck with insomnia. I even took a sleeping pill, but all that did was make my body even more tired. My mind was still racing though. Once again, I got hardly any sleep.

Sunday when we were all up and ready to go the four of us headed over to the Sherman Oaks mall. We wandered it for awhile and had fun. I ended up getting a suit jacket (I need to find the matching pants in my size down the road) at Lane Bryant and Rob got me a very cool pink huggable pillow at Brookstone. Pita got some lingerie. After the mall we all headed over to the Boba Bar and chilled out there with our yummy boba drinks. Then we headed back to my place. Berek and Pita collected their belongings and headed home. Rob and I made a run out to Taco Bell and brought some food home.

Last night we ate our Taco Bell (big mistake, it caused no end of tummy problems for me) and watched some TV like "Charmed" and "Adult Swim". We went to bed a little before midnight. By then, I wasn't feeling good at all. I was very cold and couldn't warm up and was shaking very badly. I think my body was just under extreme exhaustion. It took me about an hour to fall asleep, but I finally did. Exhaustion won out over insomnia. My body crashed hard and I didn't end up pulling myself out of bed until 1pm today (which is pretty late for me to get up on a weekday). I do feel better today though.

Today I mostly spent doing the laundry and getting some job hunting done. I also had a rather interesting phone call. Some drama has been going on as of late and I ended up talking to someone for quite a long time about all of it. The story of the call and everything behind it will have to wait until tomorrow though. This entry is long enough as it is and I need to head off and get some things done before Rob gets home from work. I'll post about it tomorrow.
