2004-02-19 3:22 PM Five Questions From Rob Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Pensive Read/Post Comments (4) Here are the five questions that Rob gave to me. If you asked him for questions and he hasn't given them to you, you're going to need to poke him a lot. He's being a lazy bee-yatch when it comes to giving out the questions. If you haven't gotten your five questions yet from me, feel free to ask for them. If you have gotten them and haven't posted them yet (BEREK) you might want to post (BEREK) them before I hunt you down (BEREK) and kill you (BEREK).
---------- 1. We know what types of law you want to practice. What types would you NOT want to practice, and why not? Hrm, that's a good question. I think at this point a job is a job and I would probably take any type of law that was offered to me as long as the salary was livable. If I was at liberty to pick and choose I would have to say that the field I wouldn't want to practice in would be tax law. I had a tax law class in law school, and while I did like the class (mostly in part to an amazing professor), I suck at math and would be a horrible tax attorney. Workers comp also doesn't sound too appealing to me - sounds kind of boring. I'd say I'd want to stay away from the boring things, but if my Dad gives me a hand in finding work I'll probably end up in the insurance defence area. Insurance law isn't something I really yearn to practice, but like I said, at this point I really can't afford to turn down anything. 2. What attributes do you value in a friendship? I don't know if I can actually pinpoint things I look for in a friendship. The basics come to mind: loyalty, someone I can be myself around, trustworthyness, understanding that there are bad times in a friendship as well as good, honesty, etc. But I think those are things that most people look for. I guess my main thing is finding someone I click with, which is not always easy. I'm a bit weird and have a pretty warped sense of humor. So, when I find someone I click with it's pretty cool. Beyond that, I don't really know what to say. I guess I just know if things are working out or not. 3. Do you regret doing anything in the course of your life? If so, what? I try not to let past mistakes influence me, but there is one that keeps biting me in the ass. I regret going to film school for college. While it was fun at the time (and I really wanted to be a screenwriter / film director) it was pretty much worthless. I couldn't find a real job after college and there's not much I can do with a film degree. I wish I would have majored in pre-veterinary medicine so that I could have gone to vet school. As much as I'm glad I did the law school thing, I still think I would be a lot better off (and happier) career wise if I would have pursued the vet route and not the film route. 4. If you couldn't be a lawyer, or a veterinarian, what profession would you take up? The first thing that comes to mind would be the old standby for me - screenwriter / film director. But we all see how well that worked out. I would LOVE to work for the FBI, but physically I'm unable to. As most people know I have an interest in politics and if I couldn't be a lawyer at least I could use my law degree somewhat as a politician. If I didn't have a law degree (and it was financially possible) I wouldn't mind being a stay at home Mom. It's not an easy task, but I really want a kid some day and I think that a child should have at least one parent around the house for them. However, at this point I've worked too hard and too long to give up a career as an attorney. 5. Mandatory super power question, but with a twist - what power would you choose if you could only use it for the forces of good? For evil? Aren't you already evil? If I could only use a super power for the forces of good then I would probably want the power to heal. That way I could help people that I cared about. A close second would be the power to speak with animals. It would be cool to know what exactly they were thinking and be able to help them out. If I could only use a super power for the forces of evil I would probably want the power to stop time (except for me and those I chose to keep going) for short periods of time. I can think of a ton of fun (and yes, evil) things that could be done with that. Hey! What's with the last question? "Aren't you already evil?" Just because you sold your soul to me for a cookie does not mean I'm evil. In D&D terms I'm probably lawful neutral. I may have evil tendencies every now and then, but I also have good tendencies. As far as the whole good/evil thing goes I try to keep a balance. Besides, nobody is really purely "good" or purely "evil". We're all a combination of both. I just happen to like to try to keep my combination pretty even. So nyah. =P Read/Post Comments (4) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
