Yesterday was a bunch of the same. When Rob came home after work we decided we needed to get the hell out of the house for a while and see a movie. So, we headed over to downtown Burbank.

We had some time before our movie so we grabbed dinner at Subway and then some ice cream at Ben and Jerry's. We then headed to the big theatre to see a 7:30 showing of The Butterfly Effect. Let me start things off by saying that it was a fairly good movie. The plot was cool, the script was decent, and the acting was a lot better than I thought it would be. However, I really didn't like it. My film school training usually means that I cam pinpoint exactly what I like or don't like about a movie. However, I have no idea why I didn't like this. This is the first time ever that I've truely disliked a movie and had no idea why. I wouldn't go as far as to say I hated it, but I *very much* disliked it. My gut reaction to this movie is dislike and a little bit of repulsion and it disturbs me greatly that I don't know why I don't like it. Too weird. Anyone out there have the same reaction as I did to it?

After the movie we headed home, watched the news, played around on-line, and went to sleep. I had a pretty fitful night (stomach troubles) and so I slept in a bit today after Rob left for work.

Today is more of the same, with a little bit of cool news thrown in. My Dad called me today to help with the job hunt. Apparently a while back he met Bela Lugosi (the son of the Bela who played Dracula) and he's an attorney. He does entertainment law out in CA and had my Dad helped him with a case in Chicago. Apparently my Dad worked on a transfer of the rights of the old religious TV show "Davey and Goliath". So, my dad talked to Mr. Lugosi and he wants me to fax my resume and cover letter in to him. He's going to give it to the hiring partners at his law firm. I'm going to work on the cover letter tomorrow and hopefully get it faxed out tomorrow afternoon or Friday morning. I really hope something comes of this, because I would dig practicing entertainment law. Yes, I want to practice criminal defense more, but I do have the background for entertainment law. And it's my second choice of law to go into. Keep your fingers crossed for me because I really need a little bit of luck in job hunting right about now.
