Costco Bites Ass

Ah, finally something to post. In case you haven't noticed, I tend not to post on the days when I don't get out and do anything. I doubt most of you want to hear about my doing household chores and job hunting. It gets boring after a while (and frustrating - job hunting is one of the most depressing things I have ever done).

Thursday night Rob and I recorded our usual shows (Survivor and The Apprentice) and headed over to the Sherman Oaks mall. I needed to look at a few things and pick him up an anniversary present. We will have been married for one year on the 8th. It really doesn't feel like a whole year. Time flies. Anyway, I made a run into Brookstone and made him park his ass on a bench outside. No peekies! I ended up getting him two presents. The main one I can't post about yet because he reads this journal. If I remember, I'll post what it is after he opens it. If I forget and you're curious, just remind me sometime after Monday. The other present I can post about because he already has it. One of the things I got him was a back pillow that does massages. His back was giving him major problems last night and so I let him open it early and take it to work with him today. He seemed to like it. After Brookstone we looked around a bit more in the mall and grabbed some dinner at the Panda Express in the food court. While in the mall we also made a run into the Hallmark store because I needed to get him an anniversary card. I also needed to pick up a birthday card for my dad and an anniversary card for Berek and Pita (as of the 9th they'll have been dating for one year). After the mall Rob and I headed home.

We just hung around for the rest of the night. I wrapped up his presents (including the back pillow which he opened later in the night when his back acted up), sent the card out to my Dad, and wrote out Berek and Pita's card. Rob and I also went on the Comedy Central website and made South Park characters of Berek and Pita. We positioned them together in my Paint program and printed it out. It looked very cool.

Friday I spent running around. Carrie came over around noonish and we decided to hang out for the day. We first wanted foodage so we headed to the Boston Market for lunch. After lunch we headed to the Costco in Burbank. Carrie's a member and I have never been to a Costco store and wanted to check it out to see if Rob and I would be interested in getting a membership sometime. Those places are huge and amazing (and also very cool - or so it seemed). Carrie and I were going to buy a whole bunch of things. She and I were going to pick up a fruit plate, a cheese plate, a large bag of sour gummi worms, and some bread as snacks for the D&D game. She also was going to buy a cute pair of pants. I was going to get some gummis for myself, some chocolate things that Rob LOVES, and some sliced apples. Everything was going good until we hit the checkout line. The cashier was a total bitch and told Carrie that her card had expired at the end of February. The cashier then called a supervisor over. The supervisor was a condescending asshole. He was very mean to Carrie and refused to let us purchase any of our items (even though Carrie and her Mom have been members for ten years and the card was only 5 days expired). Carrie wasn't going to pay the renewal fee because it's her Mom's account. We left the store and as we got back to my car she remembered that she had left her card with the cashier and went back in to get it. The cashier was a bitch to her and told her that she had given the card to the supervisor. When Carrie went to the supervisor she noticed that he had pulled up her account information on the computer he was at (after we had left and before he knew Carrie was coming back into the store). She asked for her card back and he was once again a total jerk, and VERY condescending. He told her that he had confiscated the card and she would get it back when she "decided to pay the renewal fee". He was a total cock. Carrie was not happy. So, from seeing how the people at Costco treat their customers I will definitely not be getting a membership for Rob and I anytime soon.

After Costco we headed over to the Burbank mall for a little bit. We looked around in some shops, chilled out for a bit, got some italian sodas, and I got some much needed hand cream (I'm almost out) and some hand soap at Bath and Body Works. We then decided to try Mrs. Fields for a D&D snack. We wanted to get one of those giant cookies. However, the guy working there was a lazy moron and said it would take three hours to make one of those cookies for us. Fuck that. We headed back to my place. The two of us chilled out there until Rob came home from work.

The fates were against us getting snacky food today (despite our trying) so Rob headed out to Ralph's. He picked up four rolls of cookie dough, some frosting, and sodas for the game. He then proceeded to turn the four rolls of cookie dough into one gigantic cookie for all of us.

Everyone was there for D&D. We ordered pizza, did A LOT of out of character socialization, gamed a teeny bit (the night was spent way more out of character than in character), and munched on the wonderful huge cookie that Rob made. The seven of us didn't even eat half of it. After D&D most of the players took off (with more of the gigantic cookie in hand) and we struggled to get "the player who never leaves" out of the house. It wasn't easy. I was in the bathroom for a prolonged period of time and told him I didn't feel too good when I got out (which was true because my period is being a bitch once again). Rob kept falling asleep and I kept nodding off and he kept talking and talking. FINALLY he left because we kicked his ass out. To give you an idea of things - most of the players left around 11pm. "The player who never leaves" left *just before* I started typing this entry. *sigh*

So, that's where I am right now. This weekend should be fun. I don't know what Rob and I are doing tomorrow as of yet, but Sunday we're going to the Promenade with Berek and Pita (and maybe Carrie as well) and Monday we're going to Disneyland for our one year anniversary.

Oh, one thing I almost forgot to mention. Berek and Pita got into a car accident on the way over to our house. They're both fine and his car's damage isn't too bad (broken tail light). Some bitch on a cell phone rear ended him. I'll let either him or Pita go into more detail on their own journals about the incident if they so choose.
